MLB Jerseys are Making a Comeback

LONDON, ENGLAND, October 25, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ — Major League Baseball jerseys are picking up popularity at a rapid rate, for a number of reasons. Aside from the growing number of US sports fans on European shores, baseball jerseys offer their wearers an American chic which translates itself easily into the modern day wardrobe. Soccer jerseys have been and gone as a fashion item; now is the time for the baseball jersey – often a lighter and more comfortable fit – to take centre stage, as the modern man uses them to add a sporty element to his wardrobe.

Celebrity status

As with many trends, celebrities seem to be the tastemakers in this rise of the MLB jerseys, and there have been many recent examples of well-known figures strutting their stuff in the franchise uniform of their choice.

Matt Damon

He’s one of the most talented film stars to grace Hollywood in recent years, a female heart throb, and is also a massive Red Sox fan: Boston’s own Matt Damon is no stranger to an MLB jersey, and can often be seen proudly sporting the colours of his home city, typically opting for the home version ([1]) of the uniform.

The rapper Ludacris, also known as Christopher Bridges, has been known to wear the baggier version of the Miami Marlins jersey, proving that baseball has what it takes to compete with basketball on the ‘street’ front. Miami will forever be recognised as a beach side city, so wearing their jersey can give a nod that you are a chilled out character with a sunny disposition.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

In October last year, moments before Game 4 of the MLB NLCS featuring the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ashton Kutcher and wife Mila Kunis walked on field to announce the starting lineup for the Dodgers.

While Kutcher has been known to sport Cubs gear, the 38-year-old repped for the home team, as he and Kunis, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, matched head to toe in Dodgers attire ([2]).
