New logo and uniforms introduced for the next generation of Brewers baseball
In concert with the celebratory beginning of the Brewers’ 50th anniversary season, the team today also unveiled a logo marking the milestone, which will be worn on uniforms in 2020. The logo is featured in the linked style guide.
“Milwaukee Brewers First Fifty” program introduced
As part of the 50th Anniversary season, the Brewers tonight introduced an initiative to honor 50 individuals and entities that have iconic connections to Brewers history. Titled “The First Fifty,” the first set of new home uniforms produced (numbers 1 through 50) were collected and framed. Throughout the year, the Brewers will designate recipients for the jerseys to those who have unbreakable ties to the history of the organization.
The first two honors were bestowed during tonight’s program. Brewers Chairman and Principal Owner Mark Attanasio presented Uniform #1 to Commissioner Emeritus Allan H. (Bud) Selig and Uniform #50 to Brewers Hall of Fame radio broadcaster Bob Uecker. The honor carries special significance for Selig as the Brewers retired #1 in his honor, denoting Selig not only as the Brewers founder but also their “First Fan,” and for Uecker, who will call his 50th season of Brewers baseball in 2020.
The remaining 48 jerseys will be presented throughout 2020, both in ceremonies at Miller Park and throughout the city and state. Additional recipients will be announced at various times during the year.
